Ted began his landscaping career in 2000, when a part-time job managing an 11-acre nursery on Long Island grew into a fulltime position. After learning his way up from laborer to production manager, Ted started his own landscape maintenance company in 2008. He parlayed the company’s rapid growth into the 2010 purchase of Hively Landscapes in Dover, where he is owner and general manager. Ted sits on the Parade of Homes Committee and is active in the Rotary Club of York. As a youth sports coach, Ted understands the importance of leading by example and making deliberate choices that result in meaningful action. He is an avid trail runner and spends his free time exploring the outdoors with his family.
Embee & Son Inc.
Jason started working in the family construction business at a young age. After graduating from West Chester University in 1999, he managed office operations and created a website for the family business. In 2003, he and dad Michael Barshinger formed embee & son, inc., which offers cabinetry, flooring, and more. Jason oversees operations at both embee & son, inc. and Michael Barshinger Builder/Developer, Inc. He and wife Whitney have two children. He enjoys spending time with his family, being active outdoors, and auto racing.
White Rose Settlement Services Inc.
York County native Shonna Stock Cardello is a founding partner and President of White Rose Settlement Services Inc., which opened in 1996.Active in the title industry since 1992, she’s a licensed title agent in Pennsylvania, Maryland and New Jersey and has earned the designations of Certified Land Title Professional and National Title Professional. Shonna serves in numerous capacities for the American Land Title Association and the Pennsylvania Land Title Association. She’s active with the York County Builders Association and Pennsylvania Builders Association. She served as president for the charter year of the York Builders Association Women’s Council. That year, the council was recognized for a community service project overhauling Tindle House, a group home for boys through the Children’s Home of York. Shonna’s awards and recognitions include the two time RAYAC Affiliate of the Year for volunteerism, the Title Action Network Agent Recruiter of the Year, and the Title Industry Political Action Committee – Outstanding State Award.
Associate Vice President
Working hands-on in the print industry for more than a decade, Andrea is Creative Design Sales Specialist for Print-O-Stat. She moved to Pennsylvania in 2013, returning to her husband’s hometown to be closer to family and settle. Andrea serves on the Board of Directors for the York Builder's Association and chairs the Golf Committee.A believer in making a difference in one’s community, she also serves on boards for the United Way of York County and Greater Dover Area Dollars for Scholars, which awards scholarships to high school seniors. “And because I'm not cut out for the PTO, but I want to be involved in my children's school, I am one of the coordinators of their annual Talent Show!” Andrea represents the creative areas of Print-O-Stat: signs and graphics, digital and press printing, promotional products and apparel. Having served in other capacities, she can advise on all aspects of a printed project to help clients make informed decisions. In business since 1954, the company is a prime resource for architectural, engineering, and construction reprographics, 3-D printing, document management, signs and graphics, and numerous other services.
Yorktowne Roofing & Siding
An Outside Sales Representative for Yorktowne Roofing & Siding, Dan’s expertise is building lasting relationships with his customers and offering top-notch customer service. His career in the building industry started in 2000, after attending Clarion University of Pennsylvania. He and wife Jennifer have two children. In addition to serving YBA in various positions, Dan enjoys volunteering as a youth coach for the York Youth Soccer League, the Pleasureville Youth Club Basketball Program, and the York Little League Baseball Program.

Laurie LourieExecutive Vice President
Laurie oversees association operations, working with the board and executive committee and running the office. Her sociable spirit creates a relaxed and approachable office environment where consumers and contractors are welcome to call and ask questions or stop in to chat. She’s a past winner of the Small Office Executive Officer of the Year Award through the National Association of Home Builders. Laurie has worked in the building industry for nearly 25 years, previously overseeing the Wayne County Builders Association. Laurie takes satisfaction in forging new friendships and helping contractors find solutions to benefit their businesses. She’s highly versed in state contractor rules, having followed the legislation from introduction to law. Laurie is married with two grown children. Her special talents include extreme organization and opening a bottle of wine at startling speed. If you can’t find her, she and her husband are either at the beach or in spin class at the gym.
Melissa LongenbergerDirector of Membership
Melissa is responsible for membership recruitment, retention, and engagement. She plans the networking, education, and training events that help members make the most of their involvement with the association. With a degree in business administration and travel and tourism and having previously worked for a Chamber of Commerce, she enjoys interacting and building relationships with business owners. She’s the person to ask if you have any questions about resources available to your business, such as rebates that can save hundreds of dollars per year. Melissa is married and has two young boys who don’t like to eat fancy food, which has helped her pare down the cookbook collection. “If I tell them it’s chicken or beef, they’ll eat it.”
Katie DennisDirector of Marketing & Events
Katie was the girl playing on the dirt mound and helping to putty the holes in window trim while growing up the daughter of a member builder in Hanover. Her strength in telling stories led her into marketing at her father’s business after college, and to later become the voice of the builder’s association. She manages marketing and advertising for both the association and its major public events. Katie honed her marketing skills on the Board of Directors in a roller derby league, the Black Rose Rollers, but she’s spending less time on four wheels since she and her husband welcomed a son last year. Her specialty is extensive research, and she enjoys interacting with members and helping them develop their niche in the industry.
Wendy KadishOffice Assistant
Wendy is the first voice most people hear when calling the association, and she assists in planning events and invoicing. She surprises herself with the building-industry knowledge she has learned on the job, ranging from codes to insurance requirements. She enjoys working out at the gym, volunteering at church, and going to high school baseball games with her son, who she and her husband are teaching to drive. The good news? “He has great motor skills. I wasn’t afraid at all.”
